The famous American speaker Tony Robins believes “change is inevitable, progress is optional”. Having been in the technical data field since 1990, I know he’s right!

For the last two years, the Pennant ILS Division has seen a sharp rise in demand for compliance to the S-Series of specifications including S3000L and S1000D software and services.

To further the team’s expansion, on February 28, 2020 the ADG and OneStrand business units were acquired by Pennant Australasia, to form part of the Pennant Global group of companies. These two companies’ S1000D consulting resources and power of the R4i S1000D Product Suite, now joins Pennant’s ILS, LSA / OmegaPS team. Customers now have access to a team of skilled Integrated Product Support (IPS) specialists that offer consulting and support experience on the S-Series of specifications. These combined teams make up Pennant’s new Integrated Solutions and Services (ISS) Division.

During the merger of our divisions from March to June 2020, our team has also been handling COVID-19. Ensuring our teams and customers in each country remain fully supported has been extremely important to us, and we are proud to say that the demand for our Hosted S1000D Software and Services – R4i AIR and virtual training has been especially high. There has been a 25% increase in customer use of our R4i AIR hosted platform and virtual training and support offerings in those four months!

With the build-up of our teams, the change in tempo and continued customer growth for the first half of 2020 certainly highlights that change is the keyword for the ISS Division. For me, the need to embrace change and champion progress in 2020 is my focus. The Pennant ISS Division have commenced work on our next generation of technology for OmegaPS along with a new Licensing and Support Portal to improve the customer experience. With the new support portal, we will also be reviewing our support processes and increasing our QA Team.

The market place is changing too. Old established players are moving to emerging markets beyond technical data management and small software companies are filling the gaps. Customers are wanting more flexible licencing options and need be able to publish anywhere on any device. Pennant has responded to these market demands by offering hosted LSA (OmegaPS) and S1000D (R4i) products, available from the R4i AIR Online Store.

To quote the Greek philosopher Socrates, “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but building the new”, Pennant as a global team are doing exactly that. We will continue to drive innovation and drive change in our industry. At Pennant, change is welcomed and progress is expected.
