This week in Brisbane (where the R4i Software development team live), is a week of celebrating the Royal Queensland Show, or Brisbane Ekka as it is fondly known.
Running since 1876 and staged at its original birthplace the Brisbane Showgrounds, the Ekka brings the country and city together for a celebration of agriculture. The Ekka showcases the best of Queensland, attracting more than 21,000 competition entries, ranging from champion wood-chopping to exhibiting giant vegetables, 10,000 animals from beef cattle to cats and dogs, world-class live entertainment, award-winning food and wine, carnival rides, showbags and much more.
What does this have to do with the countdown to S1000D? Glad you asked… With Ekka in town, it got the OneStrand team thinking about the rides and games down at Sideshow Alley, not unlike “Vendor Alley” at the upcoming 2018 S1000D User Forum in New Orleans.
With only 30 days left till kick-off, it must be time to start talking about the giveaways on the Vendor Stands. After all, we are expected to outdo those famous OneStrand Rockets from last year. (Picture provided below, just in case you never got to take one home!)
