What a fantastic turn-out in New Orleans with the head count coming just shy of hitting 300 attendees this year. After the S1000D User Forum being abroad for the past couple of years, it was great to see the next generation of delegates this year from all around the globe!
With Reeta and Tammy being back on US soil, the team made the most of catching up with friends, colleagues, customers and partners in the region, along with meeting new people who are sure to become our friends very quickly. 😊
Melissa’s session on “Technical and Managerial Challenges Using S1000D in Practice” was very informative with a twist on the standard technical sessions. Her session was like sitting down with a Program Manager to discuss learnt experiences and how to quote those tricky S1000D programs. A recording of Melissa’s session will be made available next week, so be sure to follow us for further details.
Another big hit with the attendee’s was our fellow Aussie, Antony Wilkson (AJ), whose discussion was on “Adaption and Implementation of S1000D”. After AJ finished his speech, the questions began to roll in and didn’t stop for 15 minutes until the great MC, Gery Mras, pulled-up the audience to stop the questions for now. Fortunately, delegates had the opportunity to follow-up with AJ afterwards at the fabulous networking event.
The out-of-the box pain relief that was provided by the OneStrand First Responders on the stand this year was extremely popular, as were the hot/cold packs give away to later heal any on-going pain. Even the Band-Aid shaped USBs and gummy candies continued to provide some light-hearted fun with the attendee’s!!
To stay on theme with OneStrand’s pain relief for S1000D implementations, our Stand Prize this year was an awesome traveling First Aid Kit that will provide the winner, Kellie Gaughan from Sierra Nevada Corporation, plenty of first aid support on the go.
The final piece of exciting news from the conference was of course the announcement of where the forum will be held next year. Since the ATA e-Business Forum is being held as a separate event again in 2019 from the S1000D User Forum, the OneStrand Team looks forward to greeting everyone at ATA e-Business Las Vegas in May and at the S1000D User Forum in London.
Until then, for those who visited the OneStrand stand with specific requests and information, expect a follow-up from our team this week. For those that ran out of time to stop by, please be sure to follow OneStrand on LinkedIn to stay updated on all our exciting news, blogs and webinars!
We look forward to continuing to assist and relieve any pain as the need for S1000D implementations, combined with support for the other S-Series Specifications continues to grow into 2019!
